Seronera Wildlife Lodge |
|
 Seronera Wildlife Lodge is situated in the central Serengeti
and it is hard to believe from less than 100 meters from the
lodge that it houses 75 double rooms in what appears just to be a pile
of rocks (Kopjie). The architecture of the building (built in the 1960's)
was decades ahead of it's time. Designed with the idea of having minimal
impact on the landscape and the ecology, it utilizes the existing rocks as
natural walls and floors for the main lodge, dining room and reception
area.. In addition to providing an architectural masterpiece, Seronera
is not only the center of the Serengeti geographically, but also is the year
round high density center of wildlife in the Serengeti.
