| Day 1 |
Arrive Kilimanjaro Airport. Our
hosts will meet us outside customs and transport us to the
Mt.
Meru Game Lodge for dinner and overnight. The lodge is
located on 33 acres of mature, well manicured gardens bounded on
one side by the rushing waters of the Usa River and on the
other by the animal sanctuary where resident animals and birds
live in peace. The lodge consists of 17 double rooms with
verandahs. This location provides a great way to decompress from
the long flights. |
| Day 2 |
At 10 AM we will take a cultural walk
through the town of Usa River and visit the school project being
supported by Acacia Photography travelers. Back to Mt Meru Game
Lodge for a quick lunch and then off to Arusha National Park for
a short afternoon game drive. This park is a great place
to start and sits between Mt. Kilimanjaro (19.320 ft ) and Mt
Meru (15,780 ft). On a clear day it is a magical setting
with vistas of wildlife in front of the mountains. |
| Day 3 |
Breakfast and then off on safari
around 8:30AM. First stop on the way is a grocery store
where you may purchase beverages of choice for your rooms. We
will take a picnic lunch and head off for a game drive in
Lake Manyara National Park which lies in the Great
Rift Valley. Then to
Kirurumu
Tented camp where we will check in and overnight 2000
feet above the Great Rift Valley. The tents are
permanent structures with concrete floors and thatched roofs,
and each has its own shower, toilet, sink, electricity and a
deck overlooking the valley. |
| Day 4 |
Photo shoot of the sun rising over the
Great Rift Valley behind a baobab tree becoming known as Cowger
Point (grin). After sunrise, return to
Lake Manyara National Park for a couple hours, and then back to
Kirurumu for a late breakfast. After breakfast travel to the
mobile camp where we will check in and have lunch. After
lunch there will be a game drive At this time of year the
largest concentration of wildebeests congregate south of the
Serengeti National Park. During this time it is estimated
that 8000 wildebeests are born each day in this area.
Since there is just one lodge in this section of the eco-system,
we stay in a mobile camp in the heart of the migration. My
clients regularly rate the mobile camp as having the best
services, food and overall experience. |
| Day 5-6 |
All day game drive in the Ngorongoro
Conservation Area. Overnight at the mobile camp near
Ndutu Safari Lodge. Each person has the option of going
out all day for game viewing with a picnic lunch, or returning
to the camp for a few hours of R&R in the middle of the day.

| Day 7 |
After check out, and all day game drive to
Sopa Lodge
in the heart of the Serengeti National Park (picnic lunch on the
way). The lodge which is
constructed in the intriguing style of the Masaai Manyatta, each
building with rounded corners and flat roofs. The complex is
superbly sited in the Nyarboro Hill, an area of intense natural
beauty. The acacia woodland on the lower slopes of the hill and
the all-year-round springs have created an ideal habitat for
many species of game living in this area. The elevated positions
of the lodge provides guests with cooling breezes above the
sun-baked plains and sweeping panoramic views of timeless
Africa. |

All day game drives in the Serengeti National Park.
Overnight at the
Sopa Lodge. Each person has the option of
going out all day for game viewing with a picnic lunch, or
returning to the lodge for a few hours of R&R in the middle of
the day. The 3 vehicles do not need to stay together,

the most significant origin of man archeological sites in the
world. At Olduvai Gorge, the Leakey's uncovered traces of man's
predecessors from 3.5 million years ago. After a lecture
and viewing the museum we will travel on to the
Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
to photograph the sunset over the Ngorongoro Crater. |
| Day 11 |
Early morning game drive in the
Ngorongoro Crater. Lunch on the Crater floor and then
depart for Arusha and the Mt Meru Game Lodge. |
| Day 12 |
Day room (including breakfast and
lunch) at the Mt Meru Game Lodge until 5:30 PM when we leave for
the airport for the return flight. |

feet above the Great Rift Valley. this stunning location
overlooks a spectacular panorama
across Lake
Manyara to Mount Losimongori and miles of seemingly untouched
Africa. Kirurumu is ecologically and unobtrusively built of
local materials, inspired by the nearby traditional Mbulu (Iraqw)
tribal dwellings. The well spaced tents are private and
secluded, each raised on a base of natural stone and most with a
deck overlooking the valley. Bedrooms are comfortable with twin
or double beds with duvets. The modern en-suite bathrooms have
hot and cold water and flush toilets. |

walking safari (with a ranger) for those that want to experience
the African bush on foot. The Ndutu Safari Lodge,
a charming resort, gives the visitor the true feel of
Africa. Wildlife wanders through the grounds daily and
sitting around the campfire at night visitors compare the
wonders they have seen with others from around the world. |

After checkout, an all day game drive
on the way to
Mbuzi Mawe Camp for dinner and overnight.
Scenically located in a glade
guarded by 3 million year old granite towers, Mbuzi Mawe
(meaning Klipspringer in English) makes maximum use of its
unique wilderness location. Unlike any other camp, Mbuzi Mawe
Tented Camp lies at the epicenter of the Serengeti within easy
reach of the prime wildlife theatres of Lobo, the Western
Corridor of the Grumeti River, the southern grass plains, the
Seronera Valley and the kopjes. |
