Mega Herd Migration and Wildebeest Birthing Photo Safari & Photography Workshop - Feb

The nearly 2 million migrating wildebeests and zebras congregate in the southern reaches of the Serengeti ecosystem at this time of year for the special grasses that wildebeests crave during the time of nursing.  An estimated 8000 wildebeests are born daily during an 6 week period between Mid January through February.  Because of the huge population of wildlife and the relaxed rules permitting off road safaris, we spend 3 nights in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will finish our safari with a visit to the 'Eden of Africa' - Ngorongoro Crater.

Mega Herd Migration Green Photo Safari & Photography Workshop - May

The nearly 2 million migrating wildebeests and zebras will be on the move north in lush green surroundings since the rainy season is just ended.  Roughly half will take the western corridor route across the Grumeti River and the other half take the central route through the center of the Serengeti National Park. We will get an opportunity to experience both.. see them dodging the huge crocs of the Grumeti, and watch the reaction of the cats of the central Seronera region. Because of the huge population of wildlife and the relaxed rules permitting off road safaris, we also spend 3 nights in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). The intimacy of wildlife photography in the NCA can not be matched. We will finish our safari with a visit to the 'Eden of Africa' - Ngorongoro Crater.

Mara Wedge Mega Herd Migration Photo Safari & Photography Workshop - July

We fly to the triangular piece of the Serengeti above the Mara River, south of the Kenyan border known as the Mara Wedge.  It is in this most remote wilderness of the ecosystem extending into Kenya that the migration settles this time of year along the Mara River.  We will camp in luxury tents from where we will hear the lions roar at night and the wildebeests dodge the huge crocs of the Mara River. We will break up the safari drives to the middle of the Serengeti where we will stay in luxury accommodation near the area with the highest concentration of the big cats in the entire ecosystem. We will finish our safari with a visit to the 'Eden of Africa' - Ngorongoro Crater.
